Blair Tiger, M.A., Lieutenant Colonel (Retired)
Mr. Blair Tiger is a retired US Army officer, Catholic educator, and administrator. Born and raised in New Jersey, he has been blessed to live in many places around the world as either a soldier or educator. For the past five years, Mr. Tiger and his family have resided in Allentown, enjoying the east coast food, culture, and beauty.
Mr. Tiger graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He was commissioned as an Infantry Officer. Over the next 22 years, he served overseas and across the United States at various postings with increasing responsibilities. His final assignment was back to West Point, where he served as both faculty and staff. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Upon retirement from the Army, Mr. Tiger and his family moved to Peru, Illinois, to teach and coach at St. Bede Academy, a Benedictine Order prep school. Mr. Tiger taught algebra, geometry, calculus, and applied mathematics to students in grades 9 through 12. He began the St. Bede wrestling program and was the head coach for 9 years. His greatest joys at St. Bede came from Summer Math Camps, teaching the “I hate math” class, as well as leading the school to their first wrestling state championship.
In 2015, Mr. Tiger and his family moved to the Lehigh Valley to become the Principal at Allentown Catholic High School. While principal, he renovated classrooms and fielded a one to one technology program for both faculty and students. The strong, vibrant Catholic identity and spirit-filled student body were his joy at Allentown Central Catholic.
Mr. Tiger also has a Masters of Arts from Webster University. He has completed course work and is working on his dissertation for his Ph.D. from Benedictine University. Mr. Tiger has been happily married to Carolyn for 35 years and they have two wonderful adult children. Megan lives and works in New York City, and JP lives and works in Philadelphia. They have two dogs, GK and Frannie, named after GK Chesterton and his wife.
