Turn your Pennsylvania tax liability into scholarship dollars!

Did you know that it’s easy to redirect your state tax dollars to provide financial aid to Martin Saints Classical families? To learn more or to enroll in this program, please contact our Director of Advancement, Ms. Nicole Marshall, at nmarshall@martinsaintsclassical.org, or (267) 495-4865, ext. 204.

  • The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) is a Pennsylvania program supporting all students with financial need. The Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) is a similar program, but prioritizing students who also live in low performing public school districts.

  • Any business and most individuals with an annual Pennsylvania tax liability over $1000 are eligible to enroll and designate their state taxes to fund these programs.

  • It costs you nothing extra, although it does require an advance payment. The paperwork to designate your taxes in this way is simple and quick. This is truly a win/win situation: you get a 90% tax credit for contributions to these programs. Then the programs pay the money forward as scholarships for young men and women at Martin Saints.

    1. Download the application below, complete it, and send it to Ms. Nicole Marshall at Martin Saints, who will submit it on your behalf through either BLOCS or the Foundation for Catholic Education.

    2. You will be informed by BLOCS or the Foundation for Catholic Education once you need to write the check to help support Martin Saints scholarship programs.

    3. File your PA tax return as normal. You will receive a Schedule K-1 form to apply for a credit on your Pennsylvania tax return.

    4. Receive your refund! With a two year pledge to the EITC program, you will receive a 90% of your pledged amount back as a tax credit.

For example, if you were to write a check for $1,000 you would receive a $900 tax credit from the state of PA. This will turn your $1,000 bill for taxes into a $1,000 contribution for Martin Saints Classical High School families. Please consider supporting our families!

Mary Simonis Rush Scholarship Fund

All donations to Martin Saints support our students and teachers. Most MSC donors give to our unrestricted fund. But sometimes, a donor has a special connection to one of our named scholarships.

Mary Simonis Rush

The Mary Simonis Rush scholarship honors the memory of a wonderful young teacher who was devoted to the liberal arts and the Catholic faith.
