Mr. Cuddy grew up in Dauphin, Pennsylvania. He attended Seton Hill University, a Catholic school founded by the Sisters of Charity, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Sacred Music Certificate. Some memorable experiences during his undergraduate studies include conducting and performing with choirs and handbell ensembles, serving as drum major of the marching band, acting in theatrical productions, playing trumpet in jazz ensembles, and serving as cantor during Mass in the chapel. 

Mr. Cuddy continued his studies at the University of Arkansas, earning a Master of Music in Choral Conducting. In addition to conducting collegiate ensembles, he conducted a nearby church choir, worked with choirs at a local high school, and began teaching private voice lessons. Following graduation, he spent a year in Yuma, Arizona as the Choral Director at a public high school. Now, in addition to teaching at Martin Saints, he is the Director of Music at Saint Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church in Dauphin, PA.

Mr. Cuddy is grateful to be a member of the MSC community. His goal as a music educator is to lead students to find meaning in all music, modern and medieval. He also believes that sharing and performing music is an avenue toward empathizing with others, and that a better understanding of its patterns and structure can lead to a deeper appreciation of God’s design. When he is not teaching, you might find Mr. Cuddy out for a walk, at the driving range, cooking, or reading.
